MemoMix - memory, attention and Orthographic Processing, is a recommended game for the enhancement of memory and attention. It is different from others because each pair of words is written with letters, colors, different designs and sizes. Many of them also have an unusual separation.
In addition, all word pairs have another pair of similarly written words to be a distraction factor, called here distractors.
Another unique feature of Memomix is that words are randomly submitted at any position in space, because the proficient reader must be able to read the words horizontally, upside down, vertical and even mirrored mode.
The words can be selected from four semantic fields: animals, food, clothing, professions or mix (four mixed), so it also stimulates the vocabulary.
It is indicated from 7 years. Can be used in aphasia therapy, Reading and Writing Disorders, Dyslexia, automation Articulatory and Phonological Disorders, Specific Language Impairment, Attention Deficit Disorder / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). It can be also used in schools in pairs in the classroom and even for family entertainment.
- How to use
According to the level of the participants, you can select the semantic field, the number of cards, the exposure time on cards and the kind words.
The types of words to be displayed in order of difficulty are:
• words - the words of the semantic field selected without their distractors pairs will be presented to the participants get used to the dynamics of the game and reading words in different positions in space.
• Distractors - the words of the semantic field selected with their peers distractors will be presented.
• Random - will appear the words of the selected field with their peers and distractors few pairs containing written words mirrored mode.
With young students or less proficient readers, it is indicated that to start with a smaller number of cards of the same semantic field, words without distractors or mirrored and with the maximum exposure time of words. Is gradually increasing the difficulty.
